I Built a Successful Life… But Something Always Felt Missing (Part 2)
I Walked Into a Small Shop I Would Normally Ignore

I wasn’t looking for anything that morning.
I was just walking without a clear destination.

I ended up on a street I don’t usually go to. It’s quieter. Less movement. Fewer people trying to impress each other.
That’s probably why I noticed the flower shop. t wasn’t new.
I just had never paid attention to it before.
I went in without thinking too much. It was simple inside. No luxury, no decoration meant to stand out.
Just flowers, organized in a way that felt… calm.

She was behind the counter. Nothing unusual at first glance.
But she looked at me in a way I’m not used to. Not curious. Not impressed. Just present.
“Can I help you?” she asked.
It’s a normal question.
But for a second, I didn’t have a good answer.

I ended up buying something simple. I don’t even remember exactly what I said.
What I do remember is that I left feeling… different. Not in a dramatic way. Just slightly more aware of something.
I went back the next day. And then again later that week.
Not because I needed flowers. Mostly because I didn’t mind being there.
We started talking a little more each time. Nothing deep. Just normal conversation.
And that was probably the part that stood out the most. It felt normal.
She never asked what I did for a living. Never tried to guess. Never changed her tone.

I realized I was getting used to that. Maybe more than I expected.
One day, while we were talking, she asked something simple.
“Do you always seem this distracted, or is it just today?”
I laughed it off. But I didn’t really have an answer.
